                  Paris is known as the Capital of Fashion. From the 18th century, during th reign of Louis XIV to these days, Paris is very fashionable city. Louis XIV paid attention to clothes that his servants were wearing, so everyone in his at his royal court was wearing expensive clothes. Fashion in Paris isn't cheap. In the 1920s, when brand Coco Chanel became a symbol of elegance and luxury, other brands started to compete with each other. It made Paris a good start for other brands that wanted to grow. But Paris isn't only about famous fashion designers- people get involved too. A lot of brands started to import their clothes to Paris, because they saw that Parisians are more likely to buy something that other people in different countries. Famous Fashion Weeks were more affortable and fancier that the others. Journalists  were seeing it as an opportunity to gain publicity, so Paris Fashion Weeks are bigger than Fashion Weeks in...

Ancient world: History of dress

             In the Ancient world, "fashion" didn't exist. There were only cultures- and clothes were a part of it. When one culture dissapeared, other came into its place.            There were two characteristical ways of making dresses: one cloth was draped- fabric was wrapped around the body without sewing. Other dresses were tailored- the fabric was cut into pieces and sewing together.          Two different dresses were worn in two different places. Drapped robes wore people that lived near Medditerranean Sea, because clothes were airy and light. Also material matched the concept of delicate and smooth robe. Tailored dresses were worn by people from Mesopotamia- they wore short, animal skin, so material had to be sewn.        Dresses were not assigned to gender.       1) Suits (especially with skirts)    Suits are smart and fashionable. Many people wear suits for work, but it can be worn for casual day too. For example - blazer, trousers and t-shirt is the simpliest combination for good look.      2) Leather coats   Leather became one of the most stylish material in the season. Neo, the main character of Matrix, is the inspiration for this trend, so many people may connect coats with blockbuster from 1999. Also, it can be wear with almost evrything.              Dolce & Gabbana owners are Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. They're both Italian. Domenico was born in Sicily and Gabbana in Milan. Their nationality influenced their clothes- fashion designers are known as the inventors of Mediterranean style.         In 1986, they created their first collection, called "Real Women". Two years later, D&G produced beachwear and lingerines lines. In the 1990, designers created first collection for men. All of this collections were produced by Ittierre - famous buisness, which were working with luxurious brands, like Versace.      Back to the Mediterranean style.
