The gender-fluid look that fans love
Article is about gender norms- how people are playing with them, by wearing specific clothes or behaving in a specific way. Big part of the society thinks that this is the new thing nowadays. But if we look at the celebrities, we can realize something. For example, Mick Jagger, vocalist from The Rolling Stones, wore a dress on stage and his band had a long hair. He was an icon of hetero-masculinity, a leader of a rock band, so it was rather shocking. Such a famous person, David Bowie wore dresses and make up- he became an icon of gender-fluid look. And Twiggy, short hair, jeans- it also can be count as a "playing with gender norms". Now, we have an artist, Harry Styles, who is slowly becoming an icon of gender-fluid look today. There is a lot of hate comments in the internet about him wearing dresses, blouses wiuth puff sleeves, really colourfoul, with a floral print clothes and the jewelery- for example pearls.
In the time of a toxic masculinity, I think that it is not only good that artist like Harry Styles exist but it is also necessary. Of course, there is more acceptance to other orientations and genders but it comes with a bigger hate. When I talked with a people older than me, they said that earlier, sexuality was a taboo subject. It wasn't "a big deal" like today. Now, except the different emotions about all this, we have a toxic masculinity. Men have to be strong, dominant and they have never show pain or sadness. Not every men is like this and none of us should expect this behaviour. There is a lot of people who can't be happy because of the society, they can't look like they want. But if they see picture of the musician who wear dress, they might fel less sad andless alone. We have to be honest- there is no such a thing as wearing masculine or feminine clothes. Garments have no gender, so we shoudn't judge people who want to express yourself and feel good about them in specific clothes.
