Hippie Style
Stereotype about hippies is so much popular, that we don't think how they look like 50 years ago, or even 70. It is more quaint than you think it would be.
Hippis is the subculture not only about clothes- they protest againt capitalist society, which imposed strict etiquette about fashion. Hippis tried to break those rules, by wearing colorful and baggy garments. They prefer comfort over look- so fabrics were really different from each other. Everyone wear their favourite kind. Hippies showed their opinion about very important thing and make some ideas their own.
It's interesting that hippie fashion isn't steady- there were phases, when this style evolved. For example, phase in the 1960s- miniskirts and pantsuits. And "anti-fashion". Hippies wore white t-shirts and jeans, sometimes work shirt. It is unexpected, isn't it?
Hippie style ic connected with ecology- a lot of people re-use their old fabrics to make a new cloth. They supported recycling and shop at thrifts. In the 1980, hippie linked their fashion with their hobbys and mindset. Other people in this moment noticed their subculture, making it a one of the most famous styles.
Now, hippie styl is known for the colorfulness and happy peace sign, pacifier.
